Coy Tometich's Obituary
Coy Tometich, age 82, of Centerville, Iowa, died Wednesday, May 16, 2007 at Centerville Nursing & Rehab Center in Centerville. She was born the daughter of Dewey and Mary E. (Hughes) Mattly on September 30, 1924 north of Promise City, Iowa. She attended rural schools in Walnut Township in Wayne County. They were Center, Pine and Brushy Schools. Later, she graduated from the Corydon Community School in 1941 with a Normal Training Teacher's Certificate. She taught at the rural schools of Teegarten, Hollingsworth, Roanoke, Lincoln all in Appanoose County as well as Brushy School in Wayne County. On July 21, 1951, Coy was united in marriage to John J. Tometich in Numa, Iowa. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Centerville.She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, John Tometich on August 3, 1986; brothers, Dewey and Willis Mattly; sister, Duwala Large.Coy is survived by: her sons, Thomas and his wife, Helen Tometich of Prole, Iowa and Tim and his wife, Cindy Tometich of Promise City, Iowa; daughter, Carolyn and her husband, Manuel Moreno of St. Hedwig, Texas; sister, Neva McKee of Centerville, Iowa; Ten grandchildren, and five great grandchild; also several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.A Mass of Resurrection will be held on Monday, May 21, 2007 at 10:30 am at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Centerville, Iowa with Fr. Ron Will, CPPS officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakland Cemetery in Centerville.
