Connie Sue Bills' Obituary
Connie Sue (Pollock) Bills, age 72, passed away on July 30, 2026, at Kavanagh Hospice House in Des Moines, Iowa.
Connie was born on June 2, 1954, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Kenneth Wayne Pollock and Betty Lou (Northway) Pollock. She married Samuel Bills on June 3, 1972. Together, they had two sons, Jason Bills of Des Moines, Iowa, and Travis Bills of Centerville, Iowa.
Connie and Sam made their home in Centerville for several years before moving to Des Moines. Connie worked for several years at the Ramada Hotel in housekeeping management. Connie and Sam raised their two sons in Des Moines before moving to Mystic, Iowa. Connie later worked as a housekeeper at Centerville Mercy Hospital and then at Golden Age Care Center, where she eventually retired.
Connie's family and friends meant the world to her, especially her two sons and, later, her grandchildren. She found love and companionship in her dog, Willow. Connie held a special place in her heart for her dear friend and sister-at-heart, Dottie Knight, and her nephew, Forrest Bills. She enjoyed dancing, gardening, and fishing with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed gambling, whether at casinos or around a poker table with family and friends.
Connie is survived by her sons, Jason (Jenni) Bills and Travis Bills; grandchildren, Payton Bills and Noelle Bills; siblings, Gaylene (William) Rick and Marty (Mary) Northway; brothers-in-law, Walter and Mark Bills; sisters-in-law, Carolyn Bills and Becky Bills; along with several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Connie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Samuel Bills; her parents, Kenneth Wayne Pollock and Betty Lou Pollock; sisters, Judy Hayes and Vickie Salasberry; brother, Gary Bills; parents-in-law, Edward ("Nip") and Shirley Bills; and brother-in-law, Daniel ("Boon") Bills.
Funeral services will be held on August 6 at Thomas Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m., with services following at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Elgin Cemetery in Mystic, Iowa.
