Colette Evans' Obituary
Colette Evans, 58, of Centerville passed away, Sunday, November 9, 2014 at her home. Colette was born to Millard & Imogene (Starr) Doman on October 2, 1956 in Unionville, Missouri. She received her education from Unionville High School, graduating in 1974. Colette attended college at NE Missouri State University. On August 22, 1981, Colette was united in marriage to Rock Evans in Unionville, Missouri. They have one son, Mitchell Evans. Colette and Rock raised their family on the farm, just west of Centerville. Soon after college, Colette took a job working for Hall Engineering from 1978 until 1989. She was then employed by Farmers Home Administration until 1997. Since then, she has worked in the office at Centerville High School as the registrar/secretary. Colette was a family oriented person. She loved time spent with her family, especially her granddaughter, Savannah. She always looked forward to family get togethers, where she could sit around and catch up with folks for hours at a time. Colette was a very patient person, always willing to lend a helping hand. She enjoyed reading books and listening to music. Colette was a wiz at music trivia and could name rock & roll songs within seconds of hearing them. She also enjoyed playing in Women's Pool League. Colette was a regular at Centerville High School activities. Whether it was a sporting event, play or concert, she enjoyed watching them all. She served as Board Secretary for the Powersville Cemetery in Powersville, Missouri. Of all the hobbies Colette enjoyed, cheering on the St. Louis Cardinals topped the list. The redbirds had a tremendous fan in Colette. Survivors include her husband, Rock Evans of Centerville, son, Mitchell Evans (Amanda) of Centerville, granddaughter, Savannah Evans of Centerville, two brothers: Jay Doman (Millie) of Unionville, Missouri, Bill Doman (Cindi) of Macon, Missouri and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Elizabeth Ann Doman, brother-in-law, Jeff Evans and her father & mother-in-law, Ted & Joanne Evans. Funeral Services for Colette will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2014 at 10:00 AM at Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. Dick Allen officiating. Interment will be in Numa Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 14 from 5:00-8:00 PM at Thomas Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to the Powersville Cemetery Association or her granddaughter's Education Fund (Savannah Evans Scholarship Fund) and condolences may be shared at www.thomasfh.com.
