Clyde Robert Triebswetter's Obituary
Clyde Robert Triebswetter, age 94, of Centerville, Iowa, died Friday, July 3, 2009 at Oakwood Care Center in Clear lake, Iowa. He was born the son of Clyde E. and Lottie B. (Efaw) Triebswetter on August 27, 1914 in Centerville, Iowa. He graduated from the Centerville Community High School.On May 4, 1936, Robert was united in marriage with Helen Cooper in Centerville, Iowa. They celebrated over 71 years together. Robert and his wife, Helen, owned and operated a nationally-advertised business known as United Kennels. They sold and shipped pure-bred dogs throughout the United States from many Iowa and Missouri kennels for over 40 years. He was a member of the Drake Avenue Christian Church in Centerville.Robert had hobbies of chess and checkers and participated in many state tournaments, and spent time playing his organs and listening to music. He looked forward to and welcomed visits from family and friends.He was preceded in death by: his parents; his wife, Helen Triebswetter on May 3, 2007; sister-in-law, Margaret Luse; and brother-in-law, Glenn Seeds.Robert is survived by: his two daughters, Nancy Merrick and her husband, Donald, of Clear Lake, Iowa, and Betty Morgan of Davenport, Iowa; five grandchildren, Michael Merrick of Ottumwa, Iowa, James and his wife , Dawn Merrick of Mason City, Iowa, Craig and his wife, Sue Merrick of Albany, Oregon, John and his wife, Marla Merrick of Johnston, Iowa, and Denise and her husband, Shane Miller of Shawnee, Kansas; eight great grandchildren, Matthew S. and Justin Merrick, Meagan Merrick, Alan and Kimberly Merrick, Mathew J. and Kayla Merrick, and Logan Miller; one great great grandchild, Alexis Merrick; sister-in-law, Julia Seeds of Indianapolis, Indiana; and brother-in-law, Velman Luse of Decorah, Iowa.Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2009 at 1:30 pm at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville, Iowa with Rev. Velman Luse officiating. Burial will follow at the Oakland Cemetery in Centerville. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 6, 2009 from 2 pm till 8 pm at the funeral home with the family present from 6 till 8 pm at the funeral home.Memorials can be made to the Oakwood Care Center in Clear Lake, Iowa and can be left at the funeral home.
