Clyde E. Surber, Jr. age 70 of Seymour, Iowa died Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. He was born the son of Clyde and Emma (Russell) Surber, Sr. on October 23, 1940 in Ottumwa, Iowa. He attended Ottumwa community schools.On August 4, 1960 he was united in marriage to Helen C. Scarlett in Ottumwa, Iowa. He worked at the Appanoose County Landfill and was a roofer and a jack of all trades.Clyde is preceded in death by: his parents; son, James Surber on May 29, 1996.Clyde is survived by: his wife, Helen Surber of Seymour, Iowa; sons, Roger and his wife, Toni Surber of Mystic, Iowa, Walter and his wife, Paula Surber of Brazil, Iowa, Clyde Surber III of Seymour, Iowa; daughters, Margaret of Mystic, Iowa, Stephanie and her husband, Mike Phelps of State Center, Iowa; a brother, Edwin Shadduck of Ottumwa, Iowa; a sister, Elizabeth Davis of Ottumwa, Iowa; 19 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.Services will be private and burial will be at Philadelphia Cemetery near Plano, Iowa.The To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Clyde Surber, Jr. please visit our Sympathy Store.
