Clyde Maletta, age 55, of Unionville, Missouri, formerly of Centerville, Iowa, died Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at the Putnam County Hospital, Unionville, MO.
Clyde was born November 7, 1956 in Centerville, Iowa, the son of Lewis and Marguerite (Jean) Breeding Maletta. He was raised in Centerville and graduated from Centerville High School in 1974. Clyde spent his entire life working in the construction field. Most notably, he was skilled in wood fabrication and was known for his abilities as a carpentry finisher. Furthermore, Clyde and his son Tony were in the process of starting their own carpentry business in Unionville, Missouri. He was always the ""life of the party."" Clyde enjoyed socializing with friends and family, especially when the festivities involved being outdoors. He loved golfing and playing pool-his nickname in the pool world was ""side pocket Clyde.""
Clyde is survived by four children, Megan (John) Worley of Unionville, MO, Danielle Maletta of Arlington, TX, Tony James Maletta of Unionville, Missouri, and a step-daughter Holly (Joe) Salas of Burleson, TX; four grandchildren, Macey Jean of Unionville, MO, B.J.,Jackson, and Charley of Burleson, TX; nieces Kathi, Erika, and Meho; a nephew John; and great nephews Gunnar and Tysn; a brother Jack Maletta of Centerville, Iowa; a half-brother Lewis James Maletta Jr. of Burlington, Iowa; and a sister Antoinette (Gary) McCloud of Pembroke, GA.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held 1 PM, Saturday, July 28, 2012 at the Lange Funeral Home and Crematory in Centerville, Iowa with Pastor Brian Hargrave officiating. A visitation will be held on Saturday at the funeral home from 10AM-1 PM. Burial will follow in the Elgin Cemetery north of Mystic. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to the family of Clyde Maletta and may be given to Lange Funeral Home and Crematory, 1900 S. 18th St., Centerville, Iowa, 52544.
