Clyde E. Holbrook's Obituary
Clyde Holbrook, age 83, died Monday, July 3, 2006, at the Veterans Hospital, Des Moines, Iowa.
He was born August 27, 1922 in Cincinnati, Iowa the son of Loren and Ella (Dove) Holbrook. He graduated from Cincinnati High School and worked as the desk clerk at the Care Inn at Iowa Methodist Hospital. Clyde was employed with the Iowegian Newspaper for many years. He also worked for KCOG as a news broadcaster. Clyde served in WWII and was a member of the American Legion.
He is survived by a son Jerry Holbrook and his wife Mori of North Richland Hills, Texas; 5 grandchildren Alexandra and Zachary Holbrook of North Richland Hills, Texas, Sherry Conn, Mary Wells and Steve Cowan. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Linda Cowan, and a brother Clare Holbrook.
Memorial services will be held Thursday 11 AM, July 6, 2006 at the Thomas Lange Funeral Home, Centerville with Pastor Donnell Logsdon officiating. Visitation with the family present will be from Wednesday 6-8 pm at the Thomas Lange Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Cincinnati, Iowa with military rites. A memorial has been established to the Pleasant Hill Cemetery and may be left or mailed to the Thomas Lange Funeral Home, 1900 South 18th, Centerville, Iowa 52544.
