Clive Leland Green's Obituary
Clive Leland Green was born January 20, 1935 on the family farm north of Promise City, Iowa. He was the fourth of five sons born to Clive Holland and Edna Lorena (Walthall) Green. Leland passed away January 13, 2022 at the Wayne County Hospital, Corydon, Iowa.
Leland attended a one-room school north of promise city and then attended and graduated on May 27, 1953 from Corydon High School. Their mascot was the Hornet. He lived 73 years on the family farm north of Promise City, Iowa with his parents and then with his mother after his dad's passing. He farmed first with his dad, then with his brother, Jennings, and then with his nephew, Jeff. He also raised sheep, pigs and cows for many years.
Leland enjoyed making crafts and he and his mom, Lorena, set up at numerous craft shows over the years. They also made several trips to Texas to see his brother, John, of El Paso, Texas.
For the last few years, he resided first at the Maple Grove Senior Living in Centerville, Iowa and then at Corydon Specialty Nursing Home, Corydon, Iowa.
Preceding him in death were his dad, Clive and mother, Lorena. He also lost his brother John Walthall Green of El Paso, Texas, Jennings (Jerolyn) Shelley Green of Promise City, Iowa, Jesse Alton Green, who passed away at 3 months and Gary Jefferson Green of Corydon, Iowa.
Leland leaves in passing several nieces and nephews including, Judy Green, Jeffrey (Sandy) Green, Joseph Green and a great niece, Jennifer Green.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at Thomas Funeral Home in Corydon. Interment will be at Confidence Cemetery in Wayne County, Iowa. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 from 5-7pm at Thomas Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to EveryStep Hospice.
