Clinton George's Obituary
Clinton Roy George, age 72, of Centerville, Iowa, passed away, December 20, 2006 at the University of Iowa Hospital, Iowa City, Iowa. Clint was born in Tulare, CA on February 4, 1934 to Clinton Francisco George and Ella May (Graves) George. He attended Lindsay High and Fresno High School. Clint entered into the U.S. Navy in February 1951 until 1955.
He leaves a sister Betty and her husband Paul Patrick, nieces Ruth Jean and Connie and nephew Larry, all of Fresno, CA.
On July 21, 1974 he married Lorraine Frances Morse in Fresno, CA. In March, 1956 he was married to Nora McCaslin-Erbe. Born into this marriage was a son Michael Blaine in February and a daughter Sharon Delana in October.
Clint was employed by Dolly Madison Cakes (Interstate Brands Corp.) for twelve years, managed a convenient store for two years, and was employed by Webers Bread (Interstate Brand Corp.) in 1974. Became division manager in 1976 and retired in 1996.
He was a member of International Brotherhood of Teamsters. In 1982 he became a member of the Benevolent & Protection Order of Elks and then became Exalted Ruler in 1987-88 and Trustee from 1988-1992. After moving to Centerville in 2001, he became a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife Lorraine, his son Michael and his wife Sheryl George and his two grandsons Christopher and Philip of Peoria, Arizona. His daughter Sharon, her husband John Colburn and grandsons Andrew and Gregory Colburn of Vallejo, CA. His stepson Larry Morse and two step-granddaughters Allison and Lindsey Morse and step-great granddaughter McKenzie of Sacramento, CA. His step-daughter Linda and her late husband Don Smith of Clovis, CA and two step-grand daughters Laura Doud and a step-great grandson Kenny and step great granddaughter Paige of Blaine, Washington and Lottie Mayhew of Clovis, CA. A stepson Timothy Morse and two step-grandsons Timothy and Scott of Fresno, CA.
He was preceded in death of his father, mother and sister Patricia Auchard.
Funeral services will be held 1:30 PM, Saturday, December 23, 2006 at the Thomas Lange Funeral Home with Fr. Ron Will C.PP.S officiating. A visitation will be held all day Friday with family present 6-8 PM. A memorial has been established to the family and may be left at or mailed to the Thomas Lange Funeral Home, 1900 S. 18th St., Centerville, IA 52544.
