Clifford Davis' Obituary
Clifford Davis, 82, of Centerville passed away Thursday, November 28, 2013 at Knoxville Hospital & Clinics. Clifford was born on July 29, 1931 in Centerville, Iowa to Roy & Leona (Chance) Davis. He served his country during World War II in the United States Army, where he was a golden gloves boxer. Clifford married Florence "Florene" Micetich in Centerville in 1953. Throughout his life, Clifford worked for the railroad, International Harvester, was a farmer and a painter. He started Davis Painting Service in Centerville in 1955. Clifford enjoyed working with his hands outdoors. He was a mechanically inclined person who could fix anything. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was known to be a very good shot. Clifford was a lifetime member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Centerville. Survivors include, five sons: James (Megan) Davis of Anchorage, AK, Greg (Pat) Davis of Palmer, AK, Larry (Mary) Davis of Numa, Terry (Peggy) Davis of Mystic, Brian (Deb) Davis of Knoxville, 14 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, three sisters: Peggy Micetich of Lineville, IA, Wilma (Randy) Kimple of Centerville and Judy (Sam) Coffman of Pulaski, IA. He was preceded in death by his wife Florene 'Micetich' Davis on June 1, 2004, his parents and a brother Laverne Davis. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Fr. Bill Hubmann officiating. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Monday at Thomas Funeral Home with a vigil service at 7:00 p.m. Interment will be in Numa Cemetery. Memorials may be given to St. Mary's Church.
