Clifford J. Burger's Obituary
Clifford J. Burger age 93, of Unionville, Iowa, died on Thursday, March 25, 2010 at Crestridge Nursing Home in Maquoketa, Iowa. He was born the son of John and Minnie (Miles) Burger on December 10, 1916 near Udell, Iowa. He graduated from Udell High School. Clifford was a member of Fairview Church of the Brethren.He was united in marriage to Leona Starks in 1940 and then divorced and later married Evelyn (Ward) Adams in 1955. He farmed near Unionville, Iowa. He is preceded in death by: his parents; 2nd wife Evelyn (Ward) Burger; brother, Merle Burger.He is survived by: sons, Steve and his wife, Karen Burger of Moravia, Iowa and Joe Burger of Cincinnati, Iowa; daughter, Virginia and her husband, Dick Dale of Bella Vista, Arkansas; step-son, Bill and his wife, Karen Burger of Unionville, Iowa; step daughters, Carol Kudson of Wheatland, Iowa and Yovan Maxwell of Bloomfield, Iowa; brothers, Vernon Burger of Centerville, Iowa and Richard Burger of Moravia, Iowa; sister, Melba Paris of Sandy Springs, Maryland; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at 10:30 AM at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville, Iowa with the Rev. John VanWeldon officiating. Burial will be held in the Fairview Cemetery south of Unionville, Iowa. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service at the funeral home.A memorial has been established to The Christian Motorcycle Association and can be left at or mailed to the funeral home.
