Cleta Mae Williams' Obituary
Cleta Mae Williams, age 79 of Corydon, Iowa passed away on July 6, 2025 at Corydon Specialty Care.
Cleta was born in Mercer County, Missouri on October 7, 1945 to Myles and Opal (Raines) Mark. She received her education at Central Decatur High School graduating with the class of 1964. Throughout high school Cleta met the love of her life, Gordon. They got married on October 19, 1963, two young kids in love. That love led onto two children, Lonnie and Les, and over 60 years of endless memories.
In her younger years Cleta grew interest in genealogy, learning about her family, and helping others. She enjoyed reading books and playing bingo with her friends. She was a kind soul.
Throughout her life Cleta got to see a lot of the United States, Canada, and some of Mexico while driving truck with Gordon. Cleta started going over the road with Gordon more when the boys were older, and continued to do so for 30 years, they loved being on the road, but most importantly, together. After retiring from truck driving, she loved spending time with her family. Many family gatherings were had in their home.
Cleta is survived by her husband of 61 years, Gordon; son, Les (Raquel) Williams; grandchildren, Corissa Williams, Bradley Williams, Cody (Jessica) Stark, Tyler Williams, Cynthia (Danny) Mireles, Jeraldine (Pablo) Mireles, Jorge (Paola) Mireles, Kevin Estrada; sister, Patricia (Lester) Vandel and Janice (Bob) Shraft.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Lonnie Williams; siblings, Betty Cool, Lowell Mark and in-laws Kenneth and Jessie Williams.
Funeral services for Cleta will be held Friday, July 11, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Thomas Funeral Home in Corydon, IA with burial to follow at Corydon Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, July 11, 2025 from 1:00-2:00PM at Thomas Funeral Home in Corydon. Memorials may be made to the family in honor of Cleta to be determined at a later date and mailed to Thomas Funeral Home 303 E. Jefferson Corydon, Iowa 50060 Attn: Williams Family.
