Clark Van Pelt's Obituary
Clark Thomas Van Pelt, 24, of Owasso, Oklahoma, formerly of Centerville, Iowa, entered into eternal rest on January 9, 2014. He was born to Peter Joseph and Peggy Joan (Worley) Van Pelt on August 4, 1989 in Plano, Texas. Clark was a 2008 graduate of Owasso High School. He attended Tulsa Tech and Pittsburg State University. He had most recently moved to Russellville, Arkansas to attend Arkansas Tech. During his studies with Tulsa Tech, he worked as a recruiter for the school, traveling and promoting their programs. Clark enjoyed anything that had to do with cars, movies, comics, and video games, especially those that were science fiction. Clark also enjoyed meeting new people, and spending time with family and friends. He never met a stranger. He also had a gift for working with animals and volunteered at the animal rescue shelter in Owasso. Although his time was short, he left an indelible impression on all the lives of those that were fortunate enough to have met him. Clark is survived by his parents, Peter and Peggy Van Pelt, and a brother, Wade Van Pelt, of Owasso, Oklahoma, an uncle, Don (Joyce) Crow, and an aunt, Kathy Doll, of Centerville, an uncle, Jeremy (Kelly) Van Pelt, of St. Louis, Missouri, a great-uncle, Ron (Imy) Vitoux, of Owensville, Missouri, and a great-aunt, Reva Ballard, of Centerville. He also leaves behind cousins: Chris (Amy) Crow, Krishna (Kenny) Carlyle, Jason (Cindy) Crow, Justin Doll, and Adam Van Pelt, and his girlfriend, Ashton Willis. Also left to mourn his loss are loved ones near and dear to him that are far too numerous to mention. Clark was preceded in death by his grandparents, Melbourne and Ruth (Thomas) Worley and Walter and Joy (Vitoux) Van Pelt. Clark will be laid to rest following a memorial service at Thomas Funeral Home in Centerville on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at 11:00am. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Monday, January 13 from 1-8 pm with the family present from 6-8. Interment will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Cincinnati, Iowa.
