Clarence "Junior" Withrow, Jr.'s Obituary
Clarence 'Junior' Withrow, Jr., age 81, of Moulton, Iowa, died Wednesday, April 21, 2004, at Hopice House in Ottumwa, Iowa Junior was born the son of Clarence and Gertie (Henderson) Withrow, Sr. on November 22, 1922. He graduated from Udell Community School in 1940 in Udell, Iowa.On April 6, 1947, Junior was united in marriage to Mary Jane Spurgeon in Centerville, Iowa. During his lifetime, Junior was a farmer, served in the Army Signal Corp during World War II , and worked as a Bus Mechanic for Moulton-Udell Community School for 23 years before retiring. Junior was a well-known fiddle player in Southern Iowa. He played with various bands, including 'Chariton Valley Hoedowners', 'Liz and the Laplanders', 'CD and the Side Kicks', 'Strings', 'Withrow Family and Friends', and most recently 'The Country Pickers'. He was a member of the Fairfiew Church of the Brethren in Udell, Iowa. Junior was also a member of the Stateline C.B. Club and the American Legion in Moulton, Iowa.He was preceded in death by: his parents; son-in-law, Tommie Brinegar; and great grandson Zachary Thomas Brinegar.Junior is survived by: his wife, Mary Jane of Moulton, Iowa; three daughters, Deanna Brinegar of Moulton, Iowa, Karla and her husband John, Deahl of Unionville, Iowa, and Shari and her husband Daniel Hurt of Centerville, Iowa; two sons, Randy Withrow and Andrew and his wife Vicki Withrow, all of Moulton, Iowa; eight grandchildren; two step grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; two step great grandchildren; sister, Marvel Perkins of Centerville, Iowa; and brother Bill Withrow of Centerville, Iowa.Funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 24, 2004 at 10:30 AM at the Drake Avenue Christian Church in Centerville, Iowa with Pastors Robert Sifrit, Kay Singley and Carl Heien officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 23, 2004 from 1 PM till 8PM at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville, Iowa.
