Cindy Lou Wright's Obituary
Cindy Lou Wright, 73, passed away peacefully on November 28,2025.
Cindy was born on August 15,1952 in Moline, Illinois to James and Dee (Gunter) Wright. At a young age her family moved to Cincinnati, Iowa and shortly after moved to San Francisco, CA for a few years but returned to Cincinnati a place where Cindy always considered her true home.
Cindy married Roger McMahon and had two daughters, Misty and Melissa. She went on to marry the love of her love Kenneth "Bud" Conn and had a son Aaron Conn. Cindy and Bud moved their family to Pershing, Iowa for several years but returned to Centerville to be close to family. Cindy spent a majority of her years as a devoted homemaker, always present for her children, husband, and family. She drove a school bus for many years and later became a CNA.
She cherished time spent outdoors making memories camping with family and friends and countless hours fishing, canoeing and driving around on the gravel roads so Kenneth could road hunt. She enjoyed gardening, dancing around the kitchen to her favorite country music, playing games, with Yahtzee being her favorite. But her greatest joy was simply being with her family. Cindy had such a big heart she was always there when someone needed her, never hesitating to put others before herself. She lovingly cared for her parents and took great joy in helping attend to her grandchildren, Skyler and Shyann. Cindy also spent a lot of time caring for nieces and nephews, offering constant support and unconditional love.
Cindy is survived by her children Misty (Michael) Houser, Melissa McMahon and Aaron Conn. Five grandchildren Zach (Samantha) Houser, Kyle Houser, Blake (Hannah) Houser, Skyler McMahon and Shyann McMahon. Three great grandchildren, Elle, Dean, and Margo Houser. Sisters Amber McDonald and Cheryl (Dave) Ervin along with many nieces, nephews and extended family.
She was preceded in death by Baby Boy Conn, Kenneth Conn, along with her parents Jim and Dee Wright, grandparents, Aunt Donette Stout, and nephew Dustin Wright.
Cindy's kindness, strength, and spunky spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her legacy lives on in the memories she created and lives she touched.
Cindy was truly blessed to have her granddaughter Shyann as her best friend and caregiver over the past few years. Shyann spent several hours taking her to doctor appointments and countless nights beside her hospital bed. It has not gone unseen, and the family thanks you Shyann.
May Cindy's beautiful soul rest in peace.
Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date. Memorials have been established to the family and may be mailed to Thomas Funeral Home, ATTN: Wright Family, 501 North 18th Street, Centerville, Iowa 52544.
