Cindy Furlin's Obituary
On Monday, November 9, 2020, Cynthia Kay Furlin, 59 of Seymour, loving wife and mother of three, passed away after her long and courageous battle with cancer. Cindy was born on March 8, 1961 in Nevada, Iowa to Bill Frampton and Marilyn Krieger. Cindy married her teenage sweetheart, Dennis Furlin, on March 18, 1977 at the young age of 16. Cindy and Dennis had just celebrated 43 years of marriage, which fooled many people who told them it wouldn't last because they were married at such a young age. Cindy and Dennis raised three children, Candita, Brandita and Christopher. Cindy had only two jobs in her lifetime, one of which was a para educator at Seymour Community Schools. She was employed with the school for 36 years. Cindy was devoted to her job at the school and worked up until her diagnosis in April 2019. Her three grandkids, Olivia, Hunter and Zoe were the lights of her life. Cindy always tried to make it to anything her grandkids were involved in. You could also find her playing right alongside them when they would come over to visit. Cindy thoroughly enjoyed baking and cooking homemade dishes. She was especially famous for her homemade cinnamon rolls, noodles and hot rolls. It didn't matter what she cooked, it was always amazing and she always received a lot of compliments. Another thing Cindy really enjoyed was camping and fishing with her family. She and her family spent many weekends camping when her kids were younger. Cindy and Dennis took a few fishing trips with family to Minnesota. She even got to enjoy fishing at Rathbun this past June with Dennis and Chris. You could also find her dancing and listening to music. She had a special bond with her sister Jami. They planned a girls' trip to Branson every summer and Cindy always looked forward to that. The past several months, Jami had been traveling from Oklahoma to visit her sister, and Cindy cherished those visits. Cindy will be deeply missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her husband, Dennis Furlin; her two children, Brandita Taylor (Jeremy) and Chris Furlin (Shonda; Maverick, Megan and Matt); sisters, Jami Gregory (Marty), Leisa Crouch, Sharon Risdal (Dan) and DeEtta Frampton (John); grandchildren, Olivia Furlin, Hunter and Zoe Taylor, father, Bill Frampton (Lucille), brother-in-law Dale Furlin (Mary) step father Les Krieger, and numerous extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Marilyn Kreiger, and daughter, Candita Furlin. A Celebration of Life service for Cindy will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 14, 2020 at the Thomas Funeral Home in Seymour.
