Chris Maddaleno's Obituary
Maurice Christopher (Chris) Maddaleno, age 68 of Centerville, Iowa died on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at Mercy Medical Center in Centerville.
Chris was born in Centerville, Iowa on July 16, 1946, the son of Joe and Bonnie (Myers) Maddaleno. He graduated from Centerville High School in 1964 and was united in marriage to Kathy Keller on April 3, 1964.
He was a self-employed truck owner-operator for fifty years. Chris was a long- time member of the National Federated Independent Business Association, the Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association, the First United Methodist Church, and a former member of the Centerville Elks Lodge.
Chris was an avid reader, enjoyed his Hy-Vee coffee group and loved riding motorcycles. Every summer he would ride with a group of friends in the Last Call Summer Run-riding from the Golden Gate Bridge in California to the Tail of the Dragon in Tapoco, North Carolina.
Chris is survived by his wife, Kathy Maddaleno of Centerville, Iowa; three children, Michele (Tom) Hruska of Stephens City, Virginia, Mark (Glynda) Maddaleno of Arroyo Grande, California and Megan (Dustin) Kirkland of Centerville, Iowa; six grandchildren, Nicholas Hruska, Mindy (Thomas) Miller, Maddison Maddaleno, Mason Maddaleno, Jayce Kirkland and Baylor Kirkland; three great grandchildren, Kamryn, Kylie and Khloe Miller; and a brother, Mark (Sharon) Maddaleno of Unionville, Missouri; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 AM, Monday, June 8, 2015 at Lange Funeral Home and Crematory in Centerville, Iowa, with Reverend Dennis Gilbert officiating. A visitation will be held on Sunday June 7, 2015 at Lange Funeral Home in Centerville from 12-7 PM, with the family greeting friends from 5-7 PM. A fellowship gathering will be at the First Methodist Church in Centerville, following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been designated to either the Drake Public Library, or the Legacies Foundation of Mercy Medical Center in Centerville, Iowa, and may be mailed to Lange Funeral Home 1900 S. 18th, Centerville, Iowa 52544.
