Chris M. Boughner's Obituary
Christopher Michael Boughner, a native of Appanoose County, passed away at his house in Arizona on May 16, 2013.
He was born in Fairfield, Iowa on September 20, 1979 to Mike and Carol Boughner. Chris was employed as a correctional officer by MTC State Prison in Kingman, Arizona. In honor of Chris, his fellow correctional officers hung their flag at half mast.
Chris was a devoted husband and dedicated father. He enjoyed fishing, disc golf, video games, and time spent with his family and friends. He was a good cook and enjoyed entertaining family and friends with his barbeque grill.
He is survived by his wife Nicole (Sprouse) Boughner; his children, Gavin, Braydon, Garret, and Katelynn; his father Mike (Julie) Boughner; siblings, Jackie and Jason Burdett; step-siblings, Ashley Jones, Jessica Barnhill, and Cody Barnhill; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Chris was preceded in death by his mother, Carol Burdett-Boughner; and an uncle, Gerald Stogdill.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Saturday, May 25, 2013 at Lange Funeral Home and Crematory in Centerville with Pastor Brad Dittmer officiating. Burial will follow in the Haines Cemetery, north of Centerville. A visitation will be held on Friday at Lange Funeral Home and Crematory from 2-8 PM, with the family present from 5-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to Chris and Nikki's Children and may be given to Lange Funeral Home and Crematory, 1900 S. 18th St., Centerville, Iowa, 52544.
