Chester Vere Anderson Chester Vere "Chet" Anderson, son of Leonard Earl and Elva Arlena (Saltzman) Anderson was born in Ringgold County south of Mt. Ayr, Iowa on August 2, 1917 and passed away at the Westview Care Center in Indianola, Iowa on March 22, 2010 at the age of 92 years. Chet and Pauline Rush were married August 12, 1940 in Mt. Ayr. They lived in Corydon until moving to Westview Care Center in April 2001. Chet was a farmer with his father and brother near Mr. Ayr before moving to Corydon. He worked at the Standard Station, Armour Creamery, Brick Jefferies' DX Station, Pesters, and the Coastal Mart gas station. After he retired he mowed yards in Corydon. He was preceded in death by his parents, step-mother Mildred Anderson, wife Pauline, infant daughter Shirley Ann, brother Victor, sisters Anna Margaret Worthington and Ruby Anderson, and step-brothers Elton and Bob Anderson. Survivors include son Richard and wife Carol Anderson of Milo, daughter Naoma and husband Ron Copley of Council Bluffs, half-sister Marilyn and husband Robert "Jack" Rose of Kingman, Arizona, grandchildren Curt and Chad Copley, Cheryl Gittins and Eric Anderson, 11 great grandchildren, and one great great granddaughter. He is also survived by brothers-in-law Wayne Phillips and Wilbur Rush and sister-in-law Wilma Hellyer, several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
