Chase McElvain's Obituary
Chase McElvain, 30, of Seymour, passed away on April 3, 2016. Chase was born to Dave and Shelly (Houston) McElvain on July 22, 1985, in Corydon, Iowa. He was raised in Seymour with his brother, Brady, and sister, Savannah. He graduated from Seymour High School in 2003. While in school, Chase played football, ran track, and was very active in FFA. Chase grew up on his family farm and continued on with his own operation. He was a prankster. Chase lived for playing pranks on his friends and family -- just ask Lance about the donkey in his basement. Chase had numerous passions in life; by far his biggest was time spent with his children and extended family. Survivors include his girlfriend, Kayci Wills and their daughter Sage, his son Cash and his mother Tia McElvain, parents, Dave and Shelly McElvain of Seymour, sister Savannah McElvain of Seymour, brother Brady (Markie) McElvain of Seymour, grandparents "Oliver" and Shirley Houston of Corydon, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded by his paternal grandparents, Harold McElvain, Kathryn McElvain, and Vaneta McElvain. Visitation for Chase will be held on Friday, April 8, 2016, from 2:00-8:00 P.M., with family present from 5:00 P.M. on at Thomas Randolph Funeral Home - 307 West Wall - Seymour, Iowa. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2016, at 1:30 PM at the Seymour High School. Interment will be at Southlawn Cemetery in Seymour.
