Charolette Rouse's Obituary
Charolette Rouse, 79, of Corydon passed away December 20, 2017 at Methodist Hospital in Des Moines. Charolette was born October 1, 1938 to Clarence and Pauline (Evans) Williams in Humeston, Iowa. She graduated from Humeston High School. She was an excellent basketball player; her position on the team was a forward. Charolette was united in marriage to Michael Rouse on December 27, 1958. To this union two sons were born, Dick and Doug. Charolette worked at Bankers Life in Des Moines while Mike attended barber school. She was a partner in the family barber business, she was the accountant for the business and she helped clean the shop. She loved to quilt and she enjoyed watching Iowa Hawkeye sports. Her and Mike liked traveling to Las Vegas until his health declined. She then was a dedicated caretaker to him. After Mikes passing, she enjoyed spending time with family. Survivors include her sons: Dick Rouse (Cheryl), Doug Rouse (Dee), grandchildren: Ashley Miller (Jeremy), Alisha Rouse (Robert), Emily Rouse, Lydia Rouse, great grandchildren: Cadi Miller, Cassi Miller, Peyton Kanney, Paisley Lee, brother Billy Williams, brother-in-law John Rouse, niece Glenna Fleming, and several other extended family members and many friends. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband Mike, sisters: Mary Foley and Louise Smith, and brother Orlie Williams. Funeral service will be Wednesday December 27, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home in Corydon. Interment will immediately follow the service at Corydon Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to service on Wednesday from 12-1 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home. Memorials may be directed to Karl Miles LeCompte Memorial Library in Corydon.
