Charlotte Woodward's Obituary
Charlotte Woodward, age 90, of Moravia, Iowa passed away Sunday, July 20, 2014 at her home.
Charlotte was born January 5, 1924 to Jesse and Nellie (Miles) Powell near Pierson, Iowa.
She graduated from high school in 1941 and married Emory Kehrberg January 9, 1942. Charlotte and Emory moved to Moravia in 1954 to farm and raise their family. Emory passed away on November 4, 1997. Charlotte later married Frank Woodward June 20, 1998. He preceded her in death November 3, 2007.
Charlotte worked at JCPenny in Centerville and later in Ames, Iowa. She also spent 13 years working at Union Carbide in Centerville.
She enjoyed working in church, singing, sewing and quilting. Charlotte also had a passion for baking and decorating cakes.
Charlotte is survived by her three children, Ron (Patricia) Kehrberg of Clinton, Iowa, Robert (Ella) Kehrberg of Centerville, Iowa and Lyle (Linda) Kehrberg of Moravia, Iowa; seven granchildren, Scott Kehrberg, Shannon Kehrberg, Sharla Cleveland, Jason Kehrberg, Tina Karas, Larry Kehrberg and Leslie Kehrberg; fourteen great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; three brothers, Malcolm Powell, Gilbert Powell and Arlo Powell; and two sisters, Alice Woodward and Loreta White.
Funeral services will be held at 10 AM, Friday, July 25, 2014 at the Lighthouse Church of the Nazarene in Moravia, Iowa with Reverends Terry Chapman and Ken Martin officiating. Interment will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery, Moravia. A visitation will be held at Lange Funeral Home in Moravia on Thursday, with the family greeting friends from 6-8 PM Thursday evening. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established to Monroe County Hospice or to the Lighthouse Church of the Nazarene in Moravia and may be mailed to Lange Funeral Home.
