Charles Storm's Obituary
Charles William Storm of Humeston, Iowa was born August 20, 1941 to Lester and Zora Evans Storm in Lucas County, Iowa and departed this life at the Wayne County Hospital October 16, 2015. As a child, Charles attended McMains Country School and completed his formal education at Humeston High School in 1959. Following graduation, he enlisted in the Army National Guard and then returned home to Lucas and Wayne Counties to immerse himself in his chosen life-long occupation of working the land. On July 15, 1962, Charles was united in marriage with Ruth Ann Fraizer. They moved to their farm southwest of Humeston, Iowa where they have lived for the past fifty-two years. Four sons; Michael Scott, Brian Eugene, David Charles, and Dennis Alan; blessed their home. Charles cherished his family working together on the farm and enlarged his operation beyond growing crops and livestock. He founded Storm Chemical and Farm Supply to grow, clean and market seed beans and oats in addition to selling farm chemicals, fertilizer, and short-line equipment. Later in his farming career, Charles cultivated a passion for cattle feeding, and he grew, purchased, produced and marketed fat cattle. Charles entertained no plans for retirement as he loved to work as long as he was capable, and he chose to instill an immeasurable and priceless work ethic in his children and grandchildren. Charles held a passion for sports, particularly the Mormon Trail teams for which his boys participated. Other teams that earned his devotion were the Chicago Bears, the Chicago White Sox, and the Florida State Seminoles. Charles was an active member of New Zion United Methodist Church and took pleasure in fellowship with his church family. Surviving Charles is his wife, Ruth; four sons and eleven grandchildren: Michael and Darcy Storm and daughter Ashley of Dardenne Prairie, MO; Brian and Debbie Storm and sons Dalton, Hunter, and Quinn of Lucas, IA; David Storm and children Cameo, Autumn, Jacey, Mackenzie, and Kaisen of Indianola, IA; and Dennis and Kathy Storm and children Taylor and Trevor of Victoria, MN; Justin Storm, mother of David's children; siblings, Robert Storm, Raymond Storm, and Patsy Porterfield; sister-in-law, Marian Loney; and many nieces and nephews.
