Charles Edward Everett's Obituary
Charles Edward Everett, 60, of Cincinnati, Iowa passed away at his home in Cincinnati on August 5, 2015. Charles was born to Leslie and Lois (Schave) Everett on September 27, 1954 in Iowa City, Iowa. He was the fourth of eight children. Charles graduated from Wapello High School in 1972 and went on to attend The United States Military Academy, West Point. There he studied to become a civil engineer and graduated in 1976. Chuck and Deon Ball were united in marriage June 4, 1977 and later divorced. Charles also received a degree in Biotechnology from Indian Hills Community College in 2008. After West Point he served in the Army for 11 years, attaining the rank of Captain. After an honorable discharge, Charles worked for a private contractor training soldiers who would be serving and fighting. He worked at Rubbermaid in Centerville until it closed its doors. Charles then finished his career at Ajinomoto in the Biomass technology department. Chuck enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, and loved doing things with his grandkids. Chuck loved watching Logan and Kimber with their 4-H projects at the fair. They loved spending time on adventures in the timber, hiking and watching the wildlife. Charles was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also liked to tinker with anything that he could engineer and recently restored the Laurence Ball family 720 John Deere tractor. Charles is survived by his two sons; Jarvis (Rebecca) Everett of Centerville and Wesley Everett of Albia, his two grandchildren; Logan and Kimber Everett of Centerville, his caregiver, Deon Everett Brown, his parents, Joe and Lois Everett of Winfield, Iowa, seven siblings; Larry (Susan) Everett of Winfield, Iowa, Jim (LuAnn) Everett of Columbus Junction, Iowa, Janet Everett of Winfield, Iowa, Pam (Richard) Grimm of Wellman, Iowa, Jeff Everett of Columbus Junction, Iowa, Jenny (Clinton) Preston of Bethany, MO and Andy (Kristi) Everett of Griswold, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his grandparents. A visitation will be held for Charles on Saturday, August 8, 2015 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Thomas Funeral Home.
