Charles William Brown's Obituary
Charles William Brown (Uncle Charlie), 89 of Seymour passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at Corydon Specialty Care, surrounded by his family.
Charles was born on May 29, 1934 in Seymour, Iowa; the son of Carl and Maude (Donald) Brown. He received his education from Seymour High School graduating in 1952. Charles was a veteran who served in the United States Army from 1956 - 1958 in Germany. He was united in marriage to Betty May Brown on March 11, 1961 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa, to this union; they welcomed their son, Chris.
Charles was a farmer his entire life. He enjoyed farming, raising livestock (milk cows, beef cattle and hogs), and family gatherings. For a time, Charles worked at the gas station in Promise City across the road from the current Lockridge building.
Survivors include is his son Chris Brown (Stacey), grandchildren Maverick and Natalia Brown and numerous extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Maude Brown; wife, Betty May Brown.
A memorial service will be Friday, January 5, 2024 at Thomas Funeral Home in Corydon. Interment will immediately follow at Southlawn Cemetery with Military Rites. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service from 11-1 PM at the funeral home.
