Charles VanderEcken, age 41, of Centerville, Iowa, died Saturday, October 14, 2006 at Mercy Medical Center in Centerville from injuries he received while in an pick-up truck accident south east of Centerville. He was born the son of Charlton and Carol Ann (Henderson) VanderEcken on February 21, 1965 in Centerville. He graduated from the Centerville Community Schools in 1983.On May 6, 1983, Charles was united in marriage to Nancy Garr in Centerville. He worked the last 7 years for Voltmaster Company in Corydon, Iowa on the production line.He was preceded in death by his parents.Charles is survived by: his wife, Nancy VanderEcken; son, Nathan VanderEcken and his special friend, Jamie Ruckman; two daughters, April Koenig and her husband, Cory and Samantha VanderEcken all of Centerville; sister, Sandy Vaiyanet and her husband, Gene of Valparaso, Florida; three brothers, Bill VanderEcken and his wife, Tammy of Valparaso, Florida, Richard VanderEcken and Tim VanderEcken both of Centerville, Iowa; 1 grandson, Cory Koenig, Jr. of Centerville, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 19, 2006 at 10 am at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville, Iowa with Pastor Mark Waits officiating. Burial will follow in the Haines Cemetery north of Centerville.
