Chad L. Guffey, age 41 of Tallahassee, Florida, formerly of Ottumwa, Iowa, died Sunday, December 8, 2013 at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital, Tallahassee, Florida.
Chad was born on October 1, 1972.
He is survived by his mother, Virginia (Don) Guffey Schiedel of Fairfield, Iowa; his step father, Michael L. Baxter Sr. of Ottumwa, Iowa; a sister, Lacy (James) Essary and their children, Clayton, Spencer, Ayren and Tyler of Richland, Iowa; three brothers, Shawn (Melanie) Paulk and their children Dylan and Sydney all of Ottumwa, Iowa, Michael (Melissa) Baxter Jr. and their children Taytem & Alora all of Ottumwa, Iowa and Jon Paul Baxter of Ottumwa.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, William & Edith (Leopard) Guffey.
Graveside memorial services will be held at a later date at the Crossroads Cemetery near Promise City, Iowa. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made out to the family of Chad L. Guffey and may be given to Lange Funeral Home and Crematory, 1900 S. 18th St., Centerville, Iowa 52544. Condolences may be shared online at www.langefh.com.
