Cerena Stevens' Obituary
Cerena L. Stevens, age 36 of Millerton, passed away on Friday, November 6, 2020 at her home. Cerena was born to Donald Stevens & Dea Thomas on October 21, 1984 in Corydon, Iowa. She received her education from Wayne Community Schools and graduated from Wayne Community High School with the class of 2003. In high school she was involved in choir and cheerleading, and later she became a high school cheer coach. After high school, Cerena attended Iowa School of Beauty and obtained her diploma. She became a hairdresser and worked in many salons in Des Moines and Newton, and then later had her own salon in Corydon. Cerena enjoyed working as a beautician and also working in the food service industry. On May 22, 2008, Cerena became a mother to a beautiful baby girl, Addyson Dean and then on Feb 6, 2012 she welcomed another beautiful baby girl, Emmalynn Ann. Cerena devoted her life and all her love to those girls and thrived on helping them in their many adventures in life like: 4-H, Girl Scouts, basketball, softball, Special Olympics and dance. Watching them succeed made her very proud and you could tell by that giant smile that was always on her face. She also loved going down to her mom and Mike's farm to take care of the farm animals. She became especially fond of her pigs. Cerena was very close with her extended family and loved to spend time with all of her cousins and their kids. Family time and get togethers was one of Cerena's favorite things to do. Survivors include her children: Addyson Dean and Emmalynn Ann Stevens, mother, Dea Thomas (Mike Nelling), father, Donny Stevens (Ann), step parents, Stan Caldwell (Teri), siblings: Tony Stevens, Rachel Stevens (Dusty Evans), Charles Nelling (Courtney), Desiree Harder (Mark), nephews Jeremiah, Cohen & Nathaniel, nieces: Ada & Colbie and numerous extended family members. She was preceded in death by her grandparents: Lloyd and Bonnie Thomas, and LaVerne and Letah Stevens, uncle Jerry Stevens and aunt Neida Stevens-Agan. Funeral service will be at 10:30 AM on Thursday, November 12, 2020 at United Presbyterian Church of Allerton. Interment will follow at Allerton Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM on Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at Thomas Funeral Home in Corydon with family present from 5-7 PM.
