Catherine "Kay" Sickich's Obituary
Catherine 'Kay' Sickich, age 81, of San Diego, California and a former Mystic, Iowa resident, died on Thursday, December 27, 2007 at the Kaiser Permanente Hospital in San Diego. She was born the daughter of Dennis Francis and Mary (Dawson) McCarthy on June 26, 1926 in Cork, Ireland. On September 8, 1951, Kay was united in marriage to Thomas Anthony Sickich at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Chicago, Illinois. She was a homemaker. Although Tom and Kay did not have children of their own, they were always closely aware of family in Ireland, Colorado, Montana, Wyoming and California.She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Thomas Anthony Sickich; brothers, Lian and Michael McCarthy.Kay is survived by: her sisters, Noreen of Cork Ireland and Marion Faiola of San Diego, California.Mass of Resurrection will be held at 10 am on Saturday, January 5, 2008 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Centerville, Iowa with Fr. Timothy Guthridge officiating. Burial will follow at the Oakland Cemetery in Centerville.
