Catherine Lovenstein's Obituary
Catherine Lovenstein, 84, of Exline, died Sunday, February 22 at Mercy Medical Center in Centerville. Catherine was born on December 9, 1919 in Victoria, Kansas to Francis and Catherine (Braun) Wolf. She married Stephen Lovenstein in Grainfield, Kansas on May 17, 1937. The two remained in Kansas until moving to Centerville in 1968. Catherine was a member of St. Mary's Church, she had been employed by McGraw-Edison and was a homemaker while living in the Centerville area. Catherine is survived by her husband Stephen, one daughter, LouElla Menefee and her husband Robert of Ashville, Alabama, two grandsons; Robert Thomas Menefee Jr. and his wife LeAnn of Ashville, Alabama and Stephen Ross Menefee and his wife Gina of Midland, North Carolina, one granddaughter Tandy Lynn West and her husband Timothy of Centre, Alabama, six great grandchildren; Kristin Lynn Menefee, Amber Harp, Megan Marie Menefee, Tomi Lee Menefee, Stephen Tylor Menefee and Robert Thomas Menefee III, one great great granddaughter, Kelly Nichole Harp. Catherine was preceded in death by her parents and 13 brothers and sisters. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:30 a.m., Thursday, February 26, 2004 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Centerville with Father Joe Miller C.PP.S officiating. Visitation will be held all day Wednesday, February 25, 2004 at Thomas Lange Funeral Home in Centerville with the family present from 6-8 p.m. A scripture service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, at the Funeral Home. Burial will be at Grainfield Township Cemetery in Grainfield, Kansas on Friday at 2 p.m.. A memorial has been established to St. Mary's Church or the Alzheimer Association which can be left at or mailed to Thomas Lange Funeral Home 1900 South 18th St. Centerville, Iowa 52544.
