Carolyn Smith's Obituary
Carolyn Elizabeth Smith, 72, of Seymour, passed away Friday, March 23, 2018 at Centerville Specialty Care. Carolyn was born to Wayne & Ella (Small) Eaton on July 20, 1945 in Unionville, Missouri. Carolyn received her education from Unionville High School, graduating in 1964. On January 15, 1967, Carolyn was united in marriage to Robert E. Smith. To this union came two sons, Clifford and Roger. Carolyn was a happy person who always had a smile on her face. She had nicknames for all of her loved ones, especially her grandchildren. Family was everything to Carolyn! She loved celebrating holiday's and having family dinners. She never forgot a birthday. Carolyn spent her summers gardening and canning. When winter came through, she baked. Carolyn's specialty was homemade potato donuts, which earned her the call name "donut maker" on the CB. Carolyn was a loyal member of the First Christian Church in Seymour and enjoyed the fellowship the church provided. Survivors include her husband, Robert; two children: Clifford E. Smith of Seymour and Roger A. Smith (Melinda) of Unionville, Missouri; grandchildren: Amanda Jane Smith (Mandy J) and Johnathan Baker of Cameron, MO., Austin Hade Steeley (her favorite grandson) and Erin of Kansas City, MO., Ashley Marie Smith of Dixon, Iowa, Alaina Jenae Smith (Lainey J) of Unionville, MO.; great granddaughters: Tatyana Ruth Rose Kadera (Tater Tot), Elizabeth Ann Marie Kadera (Lizzy Boo) of Cameron, MO.; sister, Louise Campbell of North Carolina; sisters-in-law: Mary Ellen Small (Richard) of Milton, Iowa, Jane Christian (Paul) of Unionville, MO. and Helen Vandermark of Mystic, Iowa; brother-in-law, John Smith of Centerville and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be 1:30 p.m., Thursday, March 29, 2018 at the First Christian Church in Seymour. Interment will immediately follow in Southlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 28th at Thomas Funeral Home in Seymour with the family present from 6-8 p.m. Memorials may be given to Centerville Specialty Care and condolences may be shared at www.thomasfh.com.
