Carolyn Lee Luse's Obituary
Carolyn Lee Luse, age 74 of Moravia, Iowa passed away Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at home.
She was born to William and Dorothy (Bennett) Johnson in Centerville, Iowa on November 29, 1940. Carolyn graduated from Centerville High School with the class of 1959. She married Jerold J. Luse on May 14, 1961 at the Drake Avenue Christian Church in Centerville. Carolyn strived throughout her life to live for others. She believed in the importance of helping other people. Most notably, Carolyn loved her family. Her children and grandchildren meant everything to her.
She enjoyed life and believed in experiencing laughter. Carolyn had a creative side, expressing herself through writing, especially poetry.
Carolyn is survived by her two children, Brian E. Luse of Moravia, Iowa and Carol Leanne (Steve) Ports of Aurora, Illinois; three grandchildren, Austin J. Luse, Olivia Faye Ports and Nicholas Alexander Ports; and a sister, Kay (Joe) Baughman of Branson, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jerold J. Luse; a brother, Junior Johnson; and many aunts and uncles.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 15, 2015 at Lange Funeral Home in Moravia, with the family greeting friends from 6-8 PM. Private funeral services will follow the visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established to either the Moravia Public Library or to the Moravia First Responders and may be mailed to Lange Funeral Home and Crematory, 103 N.
