Caroline Eva Waits, age 96, of Centerville, Iowa passed away Sunday, November 8, 2020 at the Golden Age Care Center in Centerville. She was born on January 28, 1924 in Knoxville, Iowa, the daughter of Lloyd and Myree (Jackson) Ba Read Obituary
One of my most precious childhood memories is going to the Centerville church and seeing her shout the aisles and sing Hold the fort for I am coming, Jesus answers still, wave the answer back to heaven.... waving her hands to heaven with such power and anointing. I love her dearly and rejoice knowing she is with the Lord she served and loved with all her heart!
Was glad to know such a great lady. She will be greatly missed.
A lady of true faith that shined in everything she did. She loved morel mushrooms and when we lived down there I really enjoyed taking her some each year. Our deepest condolences to the family, her church family and friends. God bless
Our families were very close from the first time we met in 1960--Joel and Donnie were babies in arms my mom used to say. I loved going to Des Moines as a teenager and riding the bus downtown to meet Elder Waits for lunch. Sister Waits took us camp kids on many a long hike to the river, the covered bridge, and the old strip mine. I taught her how to drive after Elder Waits died. We had many, many good times together--she will be sorely missed. Love to all of the family.

So sorry to hear this. She was a wonderful lady. I'll always remember her walking around the block and speaking to everyone she saw. Later I'd take her books and in no time at all she'd have them read. What a blessing to have known her. Prayers for all the family.

Cousin Caroline was one of my mother's first cousins and so I grew up feeling very close to her. I only ever knew Aunt Caroline when she old... to me, that is! lol. I always told her she looked the same for decades! And she did! She seemed that she never aged passed 50 - she had wonderful, beautiful skin. With me Aunt Caroline would tell great family stories- I loved to hear her share her memories of countless relatives in our very large extended family. She was spunky and a bit of a rebel and I loved her for it. She was a faithful servant of God and she knew how to touch the throne of God through prayer. She worshipped loudly and sang with her whole heart - out of tune - but when you heard her sing along in church there was something powerful about it because you just knew it was coming from her whole heart - from the bottom of her heart. She was one of a handful of women in my life who helped mold me into a woman of great faith to this day. I love you and I miss you Aunt Caroline. And I deeply feel your absence. You will be missed.
