Carol Wilson's Obituary
Carol Wilson, age 70, of Centerville, Iowa, died Sunday, October 22, 2006 at Mercy Medical Center in Centerville. She was born the daughter of Elmer and Isal (Bills) Phelps on July 20, 1936 in Mystic, Iowa. She received her education in the Mystic Community Schools.Carol was a Nurses Aid for the Luse Nursing Home and later worked for over 28 years at Appanoose Community Care Services in Centerville. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Centerville.She was preceded in death by: her parents; sisters, Pauline Thomas, Juanita Thomas and Ethel Rice; nephew, Gregory Phelps; and an infant granddaughter.Carol is survived by: her daughter, Kayla Wilson and Mark of Centerville, Iowa; son, Joe Curtis and his wife, Pam of Centerville, Iowa; sisters, Helen Thomas and Norma McMahon both of Centerville, Iowa and Barbara Steen of Saylerville, Iowa; brothers, Edwin Phelps of Mystic, Iowa, Norman Phelps of Des Moines, Iowa and Don Phelps of Centerville, Iowa; grandchildren, Jared Curtis and Heidi Lopata and her husband, Michael; great grandson, Brayden Lopata; and very special people, Patrick Doherty, Marilyn Barber, Mary Sadaro and Connie Cornett as well as lifelong friend, Faith Engle.Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 26, 2006 at 10 am at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville, Iowa with Rev. Patrick Doherty officiating. Burial will follow at the Elgin Cemetery north of Mystic, Iowa.
