Carol Floy Wensel's Obituary
Carol Floy Wensel (Gill), 87 passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at the Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa.
Carol was born on April, 19 1937 in Powersville, Missouri to Orval and Betty (Beary) Gill. She received her education from Unionville, Missouri High School.
Carol married the love of her life, Gail Wilbur Wensel on June, 19 1955 and to this union they welcomed two children, Terry and Lori.
Carol was a master of many things. She always had the most amazing garden with beautiful flowers and loved to cook delicious meals for her family, whom she loved to spend time with. She also had a love for riding horses and quilting in her free time.
Carol is survived by her loving husband, Gail Wensel; children, Terry (Lori) Wensel of Milan, IL, Lori (Greg) Baraks of Sealy, TX; grandchildren, Jeremy Benz, Jessica Wensel, Mindy (Josh) Rodriguez Rios, Monica Westley, Johnathan (Rebecca) Baraks, Jake (Katie) Baraks, 7 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild; special nieces, Robin Greer, Kyle Wensel Munoz; special nephew, Rick Gill; sister-in-law's, Ann Maring and Linda Gill; special friends, Billie Sue Kadel, Rochell Imboden, Twila Cederstrom, Eva Gatrel and many extended family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; infant son; David Wensel; brother, Kenneth Gill and two great grandchildren.
Funeral Services for Carol will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at Thomas Funeral Home in Corydon, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at Thomas Funeral Home in Corydon, Iowa.
