Carol (Jones) Walther's Obituary
Carol (Jones) Walther, 85, passed away December 10, 2023 at the Golden Age Care Center in Centerville, after being hospitalized for a few weeks.
She was an only child, the daughter of Carl and Louise (Stiles) Jones. Graduating from Seymour Community High School in 1956, she moved to Omaha, NE, where she had an office position with the FBI.
During that time, she met and married Kent Walther April 14, 1957.
Later, Carol moved back to Seymour to care for her mother, who was ill.
During the next several years, she worked for O.K. Insurance, was the Deputy Wayne County Auditor, and later secretary at Seymour Community School.
She was a member of the Seymour United Methodist Church, and served on the church board, and was a board member of the Seymour Community Public Library.
Her activities included Book Club, Bible Study, playing cards, and was a member of the G.E.G. Club.
Carol was very fond of cats, and had a large collection of cat related items.
Survivors include her husband, Kent Walther; a special niece and nephew-in-law, Pam and Larry Hessel of Omaha, NE; three cousins and many friends.
At her request, graveside services only will be held at 1:30PM, Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at Southlawn Cemetery in Seymour. Memorials in memory of Carol may be made to either the Seymour Public Library, Wayne Co.
