Carol Ella Robison's Obituary
Carol E. Robison, 87 of Corydon, Iowa, died peacefully on April 26, 2016 at the Circle of Life/Legacy Lodge Hospice House in Chariton, Iowa. She died following a very brief illness of pancreatic cancer. Carol was born on March 3, 1929 to J.L. (Lafe) and Sylvia (Bellon) Dent in Wright Township of Wayne County, Iowa. She had two siblings; a sister, Floris and a brother, Harold. Carol accepted Christ into her life in 1947 at the age of 18. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Corydon, Iowa. She taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and Womens' Mission Circle. Carol greatly enjoyed many hours spent quilting with several ladies from the church. Carol graduated from Corydon High School. She married Merrill Robison on March 28, 1948. They had two daughters whom they raised on their farm northwest of Corydon. Carol was a farm wife and a stay-at-home mom who was always busy. Gardening and other activities of the family kept her very busy. Carol also enjoyed making arts and crafts. She filled many hours tole painting. She was an excellent seamstress, and was also known for being an outstanding cook. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren knew her for baking the absolute best chocolate chip cookies! Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Lafe and Sylvia Dent; and siblings: Floris Polley and Harold Dent. She is survived by her husband, Merrill Robison; daughters: Rebecca (David) Sidney of Runnells and Cheryl (Steve) Tuttle of Urbandale; grandchildren: Erin Schettler of Elmwood Park, Il, Matthew (Lindsay) Schettler of Kansas City, MO, Heather (Michael) Nehre of St. Louis, and Sarah (Daniel) Cooper of Denver, IA; and six great grandchildren; along with many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Funeral Services will be held Friday, April 29, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Corydon, Iowa. Interment will follow at the Corydon Cemetery. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, from 12:00 until 1:00 p.m. at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church in Corydon or the Circle of Life/Legacy Lodge Hospice House in Chariton. Online condolences may be shared at www.thomasfh.com.
