Carol Joan (Thomas)Blair, 70 of Des Moines formerly of Centerville passed away Thursday, August 21, 2008 at Taylor Hospice House in Des Moines. Joan was born in Centerville on August 6, 1938 to Carl Edward & Ada Louise (Stewart) Thomas. She received her education in Centerville. Joan married Harold W. Blair on March 6, 1953 in Centerville, Iowa. She was a former member of Grace Tabernacle Baptist Church. Joan enjoyed watching the Grand Ole Opry, fishing, McDonalds Biscuits, Wheel of Fortune and NASCAR, especially Dale Earnhardt and Carl Edwards. Joan is survived by her husband Harold of Des Moines; two sons, Randy Blair(Linda) of Pleasant Hill, IA, Tim Blair of Des Moines; two brothers, Marvin E. Thomas of Cincinnati, IA, Robert Thomas(Polly) of Lewisville, TX; a sister, Diane Post(David) of Lewisville, TX, five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Rosalee Foster. Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, August 23, 2008 at Thomas Funeral Home with Kay Singley officiating. Visitation will be all day Friday with the family present from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Dale Cemetery.
