Carol Kay Long's Obituary
Carol Kay Long of Seymour, Iowa, was born August 28, 1956, to Keith & LaVonne (Welp) Draper in Webster City, Iowa.
She passed away Wednesday, January 22, 2025 from ALS peacefully surrounded by loved ones.
Carol attended and graduated in 1974 from Webster City High School. She then went on to attend Spencer Business College and to also study classes at Iowa Central College in Webster City.
She worked for her fathers trucking business learning how to be a log clerk and then went on to work at trucking companies in Waterloo & Des Moines. She also worked for the Iowa DOT for a couple of years. While working in Des Moines she met her first husband Ron Hoy, they later divorced. To this union two sons were born. During this time, she started her career with the Department of Agriculture at the FSA office in Mahaska County where she worked for over 28 years till her retirement.
Carol married her soul mate and love of her life in 2000, Andy Long. During this marriage they made it an adventure of moving and trying out different houses. It became their own personal joke and had lots of laughs explaining their way of life. The most happiness Carol had was her children & grandchildren and of course her husband, Andy. Being surrounded by them is the one thing she always wanted.
