Carl Broshar Obituary's Obituary
Carl Broshar, 86 of Centerville passed away Monday, March 12, 2012 at Mercy Medical Center in Centerville. Carl was born on May 23, 1925 in Ollie, Iowa, the son of Lee E. & Iva M. (Arnold) Broshar. He attended various country schools near Centerville. Carl served his country in the United States Army Corps during World War II. On September 21, 1947 he was united in marriage to Nadine Covington. She passed away on August 21, 2001. They couple lived in the Exline and Centerville area. Carl worked at various jobs, including farming, construction, Cassady Bottle Gas, Ideal Ready Mix, Baxter Box and was working at Reliable Culvert at the time of his retirement in 1988. Carl enjoyed working on his cars, woodworking and yard work. He also liked having his family close by to visit with and enjoy. Carl is survived by two daughters; Susan Broshar of Centerville, Sharon Shinn (George) of Truth or Consequences, New Mexico, son, Gary Broshar (Linda) of Eugene, Oregon, sister, Charlotte Cabel(Warren) of Davenport, Iowa, six grand children; Brandon Knapp( Jennifer) of Centerville, Shannon Knapp of Centerville, Dustin Broshar of Eugene, Oregon, Dedra Broshar of Eugene, Oregon, Elijah Shinn of Truth or Consequences New Mexico, Anna Shinn of Truth or Consequences, New Mexico, three great grandchildren, Nicholas, Justin and Kaylee Knapp of Centerville. He was preceded in death by his wife Nadine, an infant son Michael, and four brothers; Russell, Max, Wayne and Merrill Broshar. Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, March 15, 2012 at Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. Lloyd Johnston officiating. Visitation will be all day Wednesday with the family present from 6-8 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home. Interment will be in Haines Cemetery.
