Carl Corder's Obituary
Carl Corder, age 87, of Moulton, Iowa, died Friday, February 6, 2004, at Mercy Medical Center in Centerville, Iowa. Carl was born the son of John and Hattie (Henning) Corder near Coal City, Iowa on May 1, 1916. He received his education in a Rural Appanoose County School and later attended the Coyne Electrical College in Chicago, Illinois where he became a Electrician.On December 24, 1940, Carl was united in marriage to Mabel Foster in Centerville, Iowa. He worked for over 35 years with the Rock Island Railroad where he served as an Electrician. He was a member of the Orleans Church of Christ in Moulton, Iowa.He was preceded in death by: his parents; sister, Florence Gordy; and brothers, Bobbie and J.D. Corder.Survivors include: his wife, Mabel Corder of Moulton, Iowa; sons, Larry and his wife, Diana Corder of Knoxville, Iowa, Richard Corder of Moline, Illinois, Kevin and his wife, Colleen Corder of Indianapolis, Indiana; daughter, Karen and her husband, David Schwartzkopf of Indianapolis, Indiana; grandchildren, Richard Corder, Jr., Bryan Carl Corder, Wade Carl Schwartzkopt, Jason Carl Corder, Mark Schwartzkopf, Camron Corder, Carl Corder and Keely Corder; 6 great grandchildren; brothers, Ted Corder of Cincinnati, Iowa and Tracey Corder of Moulton, Iowa; sister, Nellie Lee of Centerville, Iowa.Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 10, 2004 at 1:30 pm at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Moulton, Iowa with Rev. Jerry Weller officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunset View Cemetery north of Moulton, Iowa.
