Candy Sacco's Obituary
Gwendolyn ""Candy"" Sacco, age 66 of Cincinnati, Iowa passed away Saturday, May 2, 2009 at Mercy Medical Center in Centerville.
Candy was born March 28, 1943, the daughter of Mathew and Eloise (Corey) McAfee in Burlington, Iowa. She grew up in Morning Sun, Iowa. Candy married Bob Sacco on August 16, 1958 at the St. Mary's Parish in Centerville, Iowa. To this union of marriage, two children were born, Randy and Teresa Sacco.
Candy worked in the real estate field for eighteen years with Action Reality in Centerville. She later worked a brief period of time in real estate with John Bates.
In her free time, Candy loved working outdoors. Her hobbies included landscaping and spending time with her loved ones in the family's swimming pool. She also enjoyed interior decorating and shopping. Candy was a longtime member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Centerville.
Candy is survived by her husband Bob Sacco of Cincinnati, Iowa; two children, Randy (Carla) Sacco of Ames, Iowa, and Teresa Kintzer of West Des Moines, Iowa; her mother Eloise Campbell of Exline, Iowa; six grandchildren, Lindsay (James) Russell of North Liberty, Iowa, Alicia Sacco of Ames, Iowa, Christina Sacco of Ames, Iowa, Tiffany, Erin, and Brandon Kintzer and their father Cortney all of West Des Moines, Iowa; a brother William (Pat) McAfee of Centerville, Iowa; two sisters, Janet Jones of Marion, Iowa, and Ruth (Ed) Evans of Camanche, Iowa; and numerous friends and relatives.
She was preceded in death by father Mathew McAfee; stepfather Howard Shaffer; and an infant son William Robert Sacco.
Mass of the resurrection will be held 11 AM, Tuesday, May 5, 2009 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Centerville with Father Dennis Schaab officiating. Burial will follow at the Oakland Cemetery in Centerville. A visitation will be held Monday at Lange Funeral Home from 2 PM-8 PM, with a scripture service at 7:30 PM. Family will be present from 6- 8 PM. A memorial has been established to St. Mary's Catholic Church and may be given to the Lange Funeral Home, 1900 S. 18th St., Centerville, Iowa, 52544.
