Calvin Maynard Street's Obituary
Calvin Maynard Street, 73 of Cambria, Iowa passed away on Monday, April 1, 2024.
Calvin was born on March 14, 1951 in Corydon, Iowa to Maynard and LaVerne (Loney) Street. He received his educationfrom Wayne Community High School and graduated with the class of 1969. He was very active in sports during high school years and was on the 1968 State Basketball Team.
Calvin married the love of his life, Susan Neely on June 12, 1993 and to this union they welcomed their daughter Jenna.
Calvin moved to Valentine, Nebraska in the early 70's where he met Jim and Janice Edwards and theirdaughters who became like family to him. Calvin came back to Iowa in 1984 to help his dad run StreetsTrading Post.
Calvin owned his own Ice business for many years. He provided jobs to many of the local kids throughout the years and was very active in the community. He enjoyed playing cards and enjoyed poker at the Cambria card shack. He also looked forward to attending the Iowa State Fair every year. Calvin was very outgoing and was known for his cheerful personality. Calvin was an animal loverthroughout his years.
Calvin is survived by his wife, Susan Street; daughter, Jenna Street; Sisters, Chris Warnock and Carla(Marvin) Foster; Brother-in-laws, Ned Neely & Family, Ted Neely & Family, Wendell Lee (JoAnne) Terrell;nephews, Dave Nessen (Shannon), Jay Foster (Felecia) and family, Darby Warnock (Tracey) and family, Jeff(Megan) Foster and family; niece, Darcy (Jared) Baughman and family along with many other nieces,nephews, cousins and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Maynard and LaVerne, In-Laws, Keith and Marge Neely; Sister,Kathy Sue; Brother-in-law, John Warnock; Sister-in-law, Sally Neely and nephew, Michael Terrell.
A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, April 19, 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Cambria Baptist Church in Cambria, Iowa. Visitation will be prior from 10:00AM to 11:00 AM.
