Calvin Willard McGhee's Obituary
Calvin Willard McGhee, age 63 of Corydon, passed away Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at his home.
Calvin was born on January 20, 1958 in Corydon, Iowa, the son of Donald Dean McGhee and Joan Ann (Ledgerton) McGhee. He graduated from Corydon High School, and furthered his education at Indian Hills Community college, obtaining his Associates Degree in Auto Mechanics.
After graduating from college, Calvin worked at a Chevrolet car dealership in Chariton for a period of time before accepting a job at Deflecta-Shield in Corydon. Shortly after, he accepted a position at Hill Phoenix in the Wood Shop area. Calvin was employed at Hill Phoenix for 22 years, and just retired in January of 2021.
Calvin was united in marriage to Linda Lorraine Grimm on April 12, 1997 at the First Baptist Church in Centerville. Calvin enjoyed gardening, shooting guns, woodworking, reading, watching westerns on tv, and cooking, especially baking.
Left to honor Calvins memory are his wife, Linda McGhee of Corydon; his mother, Joan Bell of Seymour; his children, Kathy (Jimmy) Kaster of Centerville, Jody (Chris) Milburn of Albia, Sari (Tim) Wagner of Centerville, and Larry (Brittany) Albright of Drakesville; ten grandchildren; five great grandchildren; a brother, Doug (Debra) McGhee of Des Moines; a niece, Alyssa Pulse of Chariton; as well as many nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
Calvin was preceded in death by his father, Donald McGhee; and a brother, Gary McGhee.
Funeral services will be held at 11AM, Saturday, March 6, 2021 at Lange Funeral Home and Crematory in Centerville with Pastor Gary Moorman officiating. Burial will follow the service at Haines Cemetery, north of Centerville. Visitation will take place Friday, March 5, 2021 at Lange Funeral Home in Centerville with the family greeting friends from 5-7PM.
