Brittany Marie Zemo's Obituary
Brittany Marie Zemo, age 35, of Centerville, passed away Monday, May 1, 2023 at her home.
Brittany was born on January 12, 1988 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the daughter of Mike Phelps and Christina Zemo. Growing up, she attended both Moravia and Centerville schools, and graduated from Centerville High School with the Class of 2006. She continued her education at Indian Hills Community College in Centerville, receiving her Associates Degree in 2008.
Brittany's pleasant personality was contagious to everyone she met. She was always there to listen to a friend, help a friend in need, or be the person in the room to cheer you up. Her infectious smile and bulletproof love of life was something everyone knew her by. She loved traveling, collecting rocks and being an Iowa Hawkeyes fan. Recently, Brittany found a passion for fishing, including ice fishing. Her pride and joy was "Kitty", her cat.
Left to cherish Brittany's memory are her mother, Christina (Brian) Bickel of Moravia; her father, Mike (Stephanie) Phelps of State Center; her siblings, Tyler (Cheyenne) McDanel, Brady Bickel, Sammi (Ricky) Ruckman, Michael (Ashtyn) Phelps, Salenea Phelps and Joel Phelps; her boyfriend, Tony Friedman; her grandparents, Gene (Lynda) Zemo, Don (Sharon) Phelps, and Richard (Darlene) Warnick; many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; as well as several extended family and friends.
Brittany was preceded in death by her great grandparents, Bob (Mary) Curtis and Frank (Mary) Zemo.
