Bonnie Thomas' Obituary
Bonnie Thomas, 76 of Allerton passed away on March 12, 2018 at her home. Bonnie Jean was born to Earnest and Ruby (Points) Niday on June 10, 1941 in Allerton, Iowa. She attended Allerton schools and graduated from Allerton High School in 1959. Bonnie enjoyed playing basketball during high school. She was united in marriage to Lloyd Thomas on September 20, 1959 and to this union two daughters were born; Dea and Frankie. Bonnie was crafty; she did needlepoint, made clothes by hand and was frequently remodeling her home. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and loved working in her yard and flower garden. Bonnie worked for Citizens Bank for many years. She was a member of the Allerton United Presbyterian Church and Beta Sigma Phi sorority. Bonnie is survived by her daughters; Dea Thomas (Mike Nelling), Frankie Horton (Alec), brother Marlin Niday (Leila), grandchildren; Cerena Stevens, Tony Stevens, Abbie Horton (Stephen Hutchins), Jessie Horton, Ethan Horton, great grandchildren; Addyson and Emmalynn Stevens and several other extended family members and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Lloyd, brothers; Babe Niday and Vernon Niday, sisters; Darlene McCarty, Donnie Niday, and Doris Rahricht. Funeral service will be Friday, March 16, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at Thomas Funeral Home in Allerton. Interment will immediately follow the service in the Allerton Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, March 15, 2018 from 5-7 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home in Allerton. Memorials may be given to the Allerton Fire Department and condolences may be shared at www.thomasfh.com.
