Bonnie L. Spurgeon Obituary's Obituary
Bonnie Spurgeon, 70 of Centerville formerly of Moulton passed away Friday, March 14, 2008 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. Bonnie was born to Johnny & Ivalee (Casteel) Melvin on October 3, 1937 in Downing, Missouri. She received her education from Davis County High School in 1956. Bonnie worked as a teller at Davis County Savings Bank. She farmed, worked at the HY-VEE Deli in Centerville and Uncle Bob's in Bloomfield. She was a member of the Unionville Methodist Church in Unionville, Iowa. Bonnie enjoyed, bowling, traveling, collecting salt & pepper shakers and time spent with her friends and family. Bonnie is survived by three children; Bradley Spurgeon (Robin) of Centerville, Brian Spurgeon of Des Moines, Sherry Roach of Lafayette, Louisiana, five grandchildren; Chad, Kristen, Justin and Kaylee Spurgeon and Delaney Roach. She is also survived by her sister Betty Goldizen of Ottumwa. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother-in-law Reid Goldizen and a granddaughter Amanda Spurgeon. Funeral service will be 10 am Tuesday, March 18th at Thomas Funeral Home with Rev Joan Ervin officiating. Visitation will be all day Monday with family present from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Arni Cemetery in Lancaster, Mo. Memorials may be given to the American Heart Association or the Susan G.
