Bonnie "Jan" Lutz's Obituary
Jan Lutz, 72, of Seymour, died Tuesday, March 6, 2012, at the Continental Care Center in Seymour. She was born June 19, 1939, in Asheville, NC, to Bonnie (Kuykendall) and Houston Robertson. Jan was raised in Asheville and graduated from Asheville High School in 1957. She lived most of her life in Candler, NC, where she and her husband, Bob Clontz, raised their six children: Robbie, Doug, Glenn, Bonnie, Jim and Tim. In 1992, she came to Putnam County, Missouri, where she bought and ran the Lucerne Caf. There she met Larry Lutz, whom she married in 1995. During the last 20 years, Jan enjoyed living in rural Wayne County, where she and Larry helped his family run their cattle operation and built a timber-framed house. Jan's hobbies included cooking, gardening, raising chickens and photography. Most of all, she loved her family, friends and neighbors, and lived to help, encourage and celebrate them. Jan's remaining family members include her husband, Larry Lutz, of Seymour, and several children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her sons are Glenn Clontz of McDonough, GA; Jim Clontz of Washington, DC; and Tim Clontz of Hendersonville, NC. Her daughter is Bonnie Chasteen of Columbia, MO. Her two step-sons are Jeff Lutz of Powersville, MO; and Tom Lutz of Jefferson City, MO. Her step-daughter, Kim Hamilton, lives in Houston, TX. Grandchildren include Becky, Mandy, Tabi, Irene, Chase, Eric, Nicole, Jessica, Daniel and Wendy. Great-grandchildren include Peyton, Elexa Myles, Eli, Jeremiah, and Adelina.
