Bobby Richard Wakefield's Obituary
Bobby Richard Wakefield, age 77, of Centerville died Saturday June 5, 2010 at Mercy Medical Center in Centerville.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday June 8, 2010 at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville with Rev. Lloyd Johnston officiating, interment will follow in the Philadelphia cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday from 1-8 pm with the family present from 6-8 pm at the funeral home.Bobby was born on August 10, 1932 in Unionville, Missouri, the son of William and Grace (Stargell) Wakefield. He grew up in the Cincinnati, Iowa area and graduated with the class of 1950 from Cincinnati High School. Following his graduation he entered the United States Army and served his country during the Korean War. Following his discharge he began a 30 year career for the Oscar Meyer Company in Davenport, Iowa. Following his retirement he moved to Centerville in 1985.Bobby was a member of the First Baptist Church in Centerville.He is survived by two brothers: Woodrow Wakefield of Davenport, IA., and Everett Wakefield of Centerville, two sisters: Sarah Hanson of Milan, Il, and Ruth Benz of Centerville. He is also survived by two granddaughters: Wendy Mohn, and Angie Good. Bobby is also survived by his special friend Joann Davis of Centerville, along with several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Harold, Ersel, and Harry, sisters, Leaha and Anna, Irene Clark, Irene Walker, Esther, and Alice Stewart.Memorials in his name are requested to the Philadelphia cemetery and may be mailed to the To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Bobby Richard Wakefield please visit our Sympathy Store.
