Bobby Wayne Spurgeon's Obituary
Bobby Wayne Spurgeon, age 77of Moulton, Iowa, died Sunday, January 29, 2006 at the Hospice House in Ottumwa, Iowa. He was born the son of Beecher Wayne and Bertha Fay (Smith) Spurgeon on October 3, 1928 near West Grove, Iowa. He graduated from the Moulton Community Schools in 1946.On June 8, 1952, Bob was united in marriage to Carol King in Centerville, Iowa. He has farmed all of his life in the Moulton, Iowa area. From 1977 until 1984, Bob was a Lay-minister at the Seymour Christian Church in Seymour, Iowa, later he became a member of the Monterey Christian Church.He was preceded in death by: his parents; son, Roger Alan Spurgeon on September 14, 1984 and a granddaughter, Jackie Spurgeon on January 8, 1992.Bob is survived by: his wife, Carol Spurgeon of Moulton, Iowa; sons, Steve Spurgeon and his wife, Cheri of Moulton, Iowa and Jim Spurgeon of Bloomfield, Iowa; Daughters, Sally Fenton and Rita Kirby and her husband, Jim all of Moulton, Iowa; 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; sisters, Mary Jane Withrow of Moulton, Iowa, Shirley Fowler of Winfield, Iowa and Marvelee Davison of Indianola, Iowa.Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, February 1, 2006 at 10 AM at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville, Iowa with Rev's Reg Higginbottom and Jerry Weller officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunset View Cemetery north of Moulton, Iowa.
